We were flying ANA Business Class from Shanghai Pudong to Tokyo Narita so we had access to the Air China Business Class Lounge No. 71  in Shanghai-Pudong’s Terminal 2.  Lounges in the Pudong airport are named according to their closest gate, hence the 71.

The entrance to the Air China lounge is one floor up from the general gate area.  Oddly enough, the nearby sign only mentions a first class lounge.  We figured the lounges were probably together so we just went up the escalator.

And there it was…the door to both the First Class and Business Class lounge.

The Air China First Class and Business Class lounges share an entrance and check in desk.

The First Class Lounge is on the left side of the desk.  The Business Class Lounge is on the right side.

Our first impression of the Business Class lounge was that it was crowded.  It was a large space with plenty of seats but still felt crowded.

The Air China Business Class Lounge consists of two floors with an escalator in the middle.

The first floor has seating and a circular bar area.

The larger second floor has more seating and the food station.

Food selection was not very impressive.

Was there hot food?  Nope, not in these empty pots.

Several large refrigerators full of bottled water and canned drinks are scattered around both floors.

There were a lot of seats throughout the lounge on both floors.

Most seats are not very private as the design of the lounge is open.  There is a private area at the back near the shower rooms.  You can also find some drinks and snacks there.

Amenities in the business class lounge include a luggage room, prayer room, 4 shower rooms, sleeping room, media center and business center.

Overall, the Air China Business Class Lounge No. 71 in Shanghai Pudong was an OK lounge.   The lounge was a large space with plenty of seating however, with the exception of one area in the back, it felt crowded.  Food selection was not great during our visit but we did appreciate the portable drinks scattered throughout the lounge.
